Twilight Rogues

After various delays for over 18 months, the debut Rot In Hell LP has finally dropped via Deathwish. This is "As Pearls Before Swine" on beer wax of 700. Another press on orange/gold mix of 300 also exists, of which I have a copy coming. It's a strange story, but basically before looking at the pressing information I ordered this beer colour just because I thought it looked better. Of course then I found out that it's the more common version, so when a friend was doing a Deathwish order of his own, I jumped on with a copy of the more limited version. I'll make a brief post about it when it arrives (hopefully within the week).
So most who read this blog know how fond I am of this band. I don't get too crazy about most modern interpretations of holy terror hardcore, but these guys are so on point with the style. That and all of their releases are always packaged really nicely with great artwork etc. This LP is no different.
Gatefold LP with artwork by Jacob Bannon. Easily the best thing he's ever done in my honest opinion, it's a photo of a mummified rat skeleton so I've read. I think the photo has been somewhat manipulated digitally too, but I don't care, it's fucking great. I don't really know what it is about it that I like in particular, but I can't stop looking at it. When pics first came up online I was instantly into it. My only problem here though, is that the sleeve is matte, and so the photo resolution is a little low. It certainly looks better on my computer screen
Bannon also had 25 copies of this printed up as part of his giclee prints collection that he does. I ordered one and when I get the chance I'll get some pics up on here. I managed to receive number 1 of 25. Stoked.
I haven't talked about the actual music here yet. Well, it's fucking great. I'll be honest, as a fan on the other side of the world who's never seen the band live, and who isn't really familiar with them as a group at all, I'll admit that the majority of their catalogue sounds the same throughout all of their releases. It ebbs and flows with recording quality, but it's all quite similar. And this LP is more of the same. That's a good thing though, it's just rough, shitty, angry metallic hardcore. The best thing Deathwish has had anything to do with in years.
I know some of you RIH dudes read this blog. I'll be in your country for four weeks over June/July this year and I'd love to see you guys live. Please make it happen haha. Forever grateful I'd be.
Now do a split with Abraxis.
