So I've been on a bit of a death metal kick lately. New and old stuff. Basically anything that worships at the altar of bands like Autopsy, Repugnant and Morbid Angel. And anything that uses more basic recording values (aka no drum triggering). Belgium's Detest Records has a slew of bands like this on their roster. Bone Sickness is one of them. So is Miasmal from Sweden. This is their debut 7" from last year (I think?). Black vinyl.
There's a heap of good bands on Detest, the two aforementioned probably being the best. I only really stumbled onto both of them and the label for that matter because of a USA tour that they're both participating in with Mammoth Grinder and Hatred Surge. Very glad I did. Mastery.
Two songs here of an obvious Autopsy lean. Modest recording. Simplistic song structure. Heavy fucking guitar tone. This follows a demo of theirs which I'm not that fond of actually, I think I need to give it some more time though. Crapy recording quality which I'm sure I'll get used to with some more effort.
New LP out in the coming months to coincide with the US tour. The song i've heard off it is probably better than both of the songs on this single. Very excited for it's release.

Hope all is epic!
I am starting a new project with my wife Meghan called CVLT Nation. The concept is based in metal and punk in all forms, and is a online magazine and clothing brand all in one. We are almost finished building the site at www.cvltnation.com, and we are currently looking for contributors who are interested in blogging about all things metal and/or crust. We think you would make a great contributor to CVLT Nation, and we would love to hear from you if you are interested.
About the brand: CVLT is a mainly t-shirt-based line that features hand-drawn illustration from black metal/metal artists from around the world. Our first line drops in April, when we will also be doing the hard launch of the webzine. Check out the graphics for CVLT One at www.cvltnation.com/collections. While the brand will be showcased on the blog, the main idea for cvltnation.com is to showcase the music, clothing and lifestyle of the metal community.
About the magazine: CVLT Nation focuses most heavily on music reviews, music videos/documentaries, band interviews/features, and tour coverage, but we also want to cover metal related art and artist interviews/features, photography, and men's metal and crust-related fashion (including DIY). We want CVLT Nation to be the go-to blog for all things to do with the metal and crust communities. We are trying to ally ourselves with several respected independent labels in the metal world in order to get content directly from the source. Take a look at the list of categories we are looking for contributors in, and let us know where you think your strengths lie as a contributor:
1. MUSIC: Album reviews, music videos, concert coverage (photos etc.), band interviews, band features, mixtapes, music documentaries/movies, tour dates
2. ART: Artist interviews, artist features, gallery shows, art documentaries/movies
3. FASHION: DIY (street shots, hand-made etc.), Independent (labels in the same ilk as CVLT)
Since this is an online magazine, we are asking for a level of commitment from you as a contributor. Since we can't pay you to contribute, it's not a lot, but we would like to see at least 2 to 3 posts per week from each contributor. However, all of our bloggers will get wholesale pricing (1/2 retail) on our clothing. Also, as administrators we will also be taking on the roles of editors, and we may occasionally review and change aspects of your post if we think it's necessary. We aren't going to be big brother about it, but we will be taking the look and reputation of CVLT Nation seriously.
We are really excited about this project and we think it can be really successful. Hit me back and let me know your thoughts about contributing to CVLT Nation.
Thanks,
Sean
